Declaration of love for excellence for Boracay

By Gil delos Santos Disclaimer: A pure personal stand, not intended to represent any office. True-blue Boracaynon, son of the island. This is the pride!   Hey Aklan! Our province is majestic. Wish you are served well, your majesty. Your government armies have issues in protecting your excellent status in the eyes of the tourists who supply the livelihood for your people. I am one of your armies who recently decided to join the force given the opportunity by the pandemic, to serve you. I believe I have given my best even if I was only provided with a batuta against the machine guns of your army in position (this is the frustrating part). My big heart for excellence is contained in a small space because decision makers are found in the big offices. I want you to be proud of what I do in the quest for excellence. Excellence is the only way how to sell our province to the tourism market who provides food in all Aklanon's dining table. I cry for excellence that some of your k...

Choose own self first

By Gil delos Santos No one can make us feel better but our own decision. Life is short and being run by choice. Take no pain in taking-in radical changes. It usually takes you to unfamiliar, uncomfortable zones but it's where opportunities are mostly created. The things that are gone are gone. Focus on the present reality and think of yourself before others. That's not selfishness, it's the wiser version of yourself. Get total composure before you extend yourself to others. If at some point I become quiet, that's when I try to reestablish composure by giving a time to care for myself, not that I detest on something. I let people be...un...

How to define a person

By Gil delos Santos I used to define a person by looking at their "deeds".  Today, I find this traditional method as manipulated truth.  I know public servants who try to show good "deeds" in the name of duty as obligation rather than of a genuine service. After coming out from work, after switching to personal mode, - that's when you see bitches on saga feast in Facebook. While in the office, it's unbelievable how they can fake actions.  How could a public servant provide public service then later bitch? Where's the passion? The public does not deserve actors. I even see people in another instance hand gifts to rather feed their ego than to know the real necessity of the people they try to help. Chocolate is chocolate, rice is rice if you know what that means. Or maybe it is just the way of aspiring politicians. Receiving a heartfelt "Thank you" after providing a sincere service with passion, is a ticket to heaven. The VIPs we assi...
