SELF-TRAIN TO ARMOR

By Gil delos Santos

Technology nowadays converges all levels of the society to a new venue of norm where the quantity network of an individual becomes a standard source of respect over the quality traits of a person.  The reason that "social media influencing" becomes a loud independent profession that emerged in recent time.  The more followers, the more attractive a person becomes.  This is now the actual social platform who the public most listen to.  Those who have bigger followers have bigger names, have bigger influence. These influences set a new standard of social norm.  We can agree that some of them barely do not have basic decency which sadly goes through the wire and through the veins of poor headed followers.  Do Filipinos embrace this trend well enough? The fun entertainment side, yes they might do.  I can however personally see how abrupt it affects the individual mindset in order to catch what's right.  I myself get hooked up with social media at some point as every single person seeks attention.  Social media is pretty good at providing that.  What we miss most of the time is the value of personal connection that we overlook underneath the comfort of high-tech devices on our palms - one of the sad reasons why people tend to care less about proper conduct and selfishly disregard other people's feelings when engaging on the web.

This creates a pet peeve in my mind that I want to campaign the importance of self-training to function decent enough with a fair mindset to be able to deliver our individual's life purpose in a smoother way if not perfect.

In science, there are different aspects attached to a person's being.  Every aspect has contributing factors.  I want to focus on the internal section where the external aspect just complies orders from the inside.  They say, the real beauty of a person lies inside.  What I believe is that: It is the mind that works more powerful, heart is just a bonus.

Behind every single law creation is intended to achieve equality.  It is the mindset that creates equality because the heart always tends to become bias. You can't be lionhearted if your mind does not tell you first what's safe and what's proper to do.

Yes, it is necessary to train the heart to listen first to its superior - the mind. There is a reason why human brain is positioned above the heart. As well, train the heart to choose the right people in your life. Attraction to fake people giving you attention is easy and can be found everywhere, everytime. Family is something. They know what's good for you. Never ever trade that. Every single thing in this world is temporary, change is constant. One thing that's permanent in my opinion is the family's love for its members, if that changes, it would only be for more love. Even tough, love is still love for families. That's for the heart's training.

Check your description first of family though. Not everyone you're blood related is family. Family is a reciprocating care between members that you can even find outside blood relation.

The mind's main function is to always make sense. Train it not only to see the bigger picture, but to see the clearer picture. Train it to practice self-discipline that you don't hurt anything or anyone by being lazy.  Train it not to be too perfectionist coz it's going to be a hard life not only to you but to people around you.  Train it to consider others that whatever's not good for you is not good for everyone else.  Train it to teach your spirit to only emit happy soulful energy.  Train it to totally take control of the heart's impulses.  But as well, train it to exercise flexibility as it is sometimes necessary to give the heart a chance to be heard or considered.

If the kind heart dictates not to return the odds to those who are deliberate with their indecorous actions toward you, it is as well the mind's choice to realize what to do to those who take advantage.  You can't generally be too soft to that.  If it is your role to kick some ass, deliver your life's purpose. I got a hashtag for that - kickass. lol

Every face of society under the age of technology and influence of social media have presence of these untrained characters.  You either self-train to armor yourself with proper mindset and right conduct or get kicked in the ass at some point in your life.

WALKING THE IGBARAS CIRCUIT FOR 3-DAYS + 1

By Gil delos Santos IGBARAS is a third class municipality in the South-western part of Iloilo province known to be one of the hiker's favorite destinations as they are blessed with waterfalls, caves, climbing rocks, beautiful mountain ridges which the popular Mount Napulak belongs to, and locals with notable genuine hospitality. We initiated the hike from Barangay Igcabugao which we had to pass through a community of mountain residents as we ascend to our first Mountain, Napulak. I had absorbed a good load of happy innocent vibe connecting to the children before starting the proper mountain journey. These kids have physically grown from the time I last saw them in my previous visits. At the same time, the reconnection naturally streamed down and effortlessly grown too. That's a good "pabaon" - their innocent smiles and timid but genuine thank you for the little present I have for them. Getting to Mount Napulak once again is a mix of happy and little concer...

Be free

Be free Self-betrayal is imprisoning ourself in the cells of envy believing that we are hell special to deserve the world's importance by seeking validation from recruited flying monkeys than be accountable to our misery brought by wrong decisions.  Be our own source of happiness. No one's responsible for it but ourselves. Give no scapegoats. No one is perfect but we can be perfect with intentions to let go and let be with no ssshht. Public proud appearances could  be a reverse happy projection by a sad inner self. Seeking validation is an abyss for an unreachable self discontent. Be truthful with our own truth and give no blame to others for our own missed target.  Rest restless souls. Don't let our silence speak misery. Hope we find peace in our quiet solace.

Local's Perspective on The Proposed Boracay Bridge

By: Gil delos Santos WHAT HOPE IS LEFT FOR BORACAY? Boracay is its people. Boracay is its community. Boracay is its natural treasures. It's dark how the future of sustainability and community for Boracay look like. Let's be part of the light for hope.  THEN As a kid born and raised in Manocmanoc, the Manocmanoc Beach was our everyday playground. Great memories! The sense of ownership that we have for our playgrounds gives us the privilege of entitlement that we feel it is our home. It was a pride each time to warmly welcome visitors to share our space with them. NOW We feel strangers to our old playgrounds. We cannot access them anymore 40 years later. We have not imagined that it wasn't owned by the community. The provincial government installed a cargo port in the Western side of Manocmanoc Beach preventing the natural sand movements and we lost the sandbar that is being formed every habagat season — which we used to call "Recudo". Recudo is gone forever!!  We a...
