This month, we launch the #TuklasMalay Series, an initiative that aims to introduce or promote places of interest, local products or local legends in the Municipality of Malay including Boracay that could activate the community's economic recovery, and for sustainability.
For the first feature, presenting Balay Tadyaw!
This Cafe is located at Poblacion Malay - 2 minutes away from the Municipal Hall. The former sanitarium-like for friends and nicely curated mini-museum of Malay Heritage turned Cafe with rustic feel is personally managed by its owner, co-feature - Rafael Ong Jr., who is a true-blue Malaynon by birth and by spirit. A living encyclopedia of Malay's history who passionately digs facts in constant to connect the past and the present of Malaynon culture, arts, and traditions.

The food and drinks they serve represent the Malaynons' flexibility like how Boracay welcomes different visitors and different taste preferences. The array starts from a quality line up of love-made Coffees, Tala's Milk Teas from natural ingredients, and Organic Plant Juice Refreshers; To Filipino specialties like lechon belly and stuffed chicken, etc.; to fusion of international cuisines.
Sit in the garden outside to get a treat from nature while having the best Quesadilla in town. Order Carbonara in either pasta or pizza to give in to your Italian food cravings then try Pad Thai in another time.
#SupportLocal to help the community farmers – where Balay Tadyaw's ingredients are sourced.
Indeed a Malaynon pride.
Here's an old blog about other Malay Tourist Spots.
